5 Leadership Lessons From Rock Climbing

Rock climbing is not just a new hobby for me but a getaway from new challenges in my life. Like any other new activity, it started with a pinch of curiosity, however it ended up being my sacred place to meet with my leader within.

Climbing is a body and mind activity in which you push your boundaries to get to new horizons. Many lessons come to me while climbing, here is just to name a few:

1.Read the path and move, just take the first step! Do not waste your energy by overthinking or doubting the right path, you can always adjust along the way.

2.You’ll be surprised by how further you can get than what you initially believe you are capable of, what seems unreachable today will come at your hands tomorrow, just stretch above and beyond where your mind tells you to stop!

3.Those who just stare at one step ahead are doomed to limit themselves to tiptoeing. Look at the big picture and first climb with your eyes! Imagine the unimaginable!

4.There are many hooks along the way that you don’t need to even touch! Don’t waste your time and energy on something that does not get you anywhere on your life map.

5.Once you set your foot, you’ll find a handhold! Know your values, when you are crystal clear about what you stand for, people will trust you inevitably and you will magically get the support you need.
